1932                Born in Morgantown, West Virginia, raised in Georgia until age six, then in
                        the Bronx, New York, U.S.A.
1953-55           Served in the US Army in Japan where he began painting
                        Studied with the Zen painter Kimura Kyoen
1955                Returned to New York and studied art history at New York University, and 
                        painting with Philip Guston
1959                Received a B.A. degree in art history and began graduate studies in the 
                        Institute of Fine Arts, N.Y.U., NY, U.S.A.  Taught art history at Rutgers 
                        University, NJ, U.S.A.
1962                After 3 years of study, left the U.S. for Europe
1963                Arrived in Israel where he lives and works to this day, in Ein Karem, 
                        Jerusalem
1973                Served in the IDF during the Yom Kippur War
                        Married and the father of five children
                        Lived and worked in Jerusalem
2011                Died in Jerusalem
